Hospital Radio

Our interest in hospital radio started way back in the 60's. We did do some work for one of the oldest hospital broadcasting services in Scotland. This was the Edinburgh HBS then called the Forth Radio Network.

We, with a number of others in 1969, started a new service at the Vale of Leven Hospital which is in Alexandria about 3 miles from Dumbarton. This general hospital serves a very wide area and we felt that a personal radio service to the patients would prove very popular. And so Radio Lennox was born. This service is still running today although we aren't able to take an active role at the moment because of shortage of time.

There is also a very active hospital radio service based in Glasgow. This is a large service which broadcasts to quite a number of hospitals around the Glasgow area. They broadcast from a central studio in the centre of Glasgow.
